yes, that is a good idea about measuring from the LCA bolt. Don brew had mentioned not all LCA’s are the same length. I have owned 5 HHR’s and bought one set of LCA’s and swapped them out and rebuilt the old LCA’s and have repeatedly replacing with a rebuilt LCA for 3-4 of my HHR’s. So there is no telling what car the LCA’s that I am currently using came from.

It’s a matter of measuring from the bolt to the centre of the tire tread to ensure an even measurement to centre the steering wheel, then adjust the outer tie rods for the toe adjustment, only real adjustment for the front end. I rebuild my LCAs also, bushings and ball joints . Haven’t had an issue in 15 years and over 575,000 miles combined with my 07 LS and 11 2LT.

The last set of LCAs I got were about a quarter inch longer or shorter and made me get a camber kit to fix it. A few other members have had the same experience.
