another broken sun/moonroof

I just called the dealer and askes how much the piece is that needs to be replaced and was told the frame piece that holds the wind screen is 289.61 and the deflector is another 79.07. So maybe I'll think about doing it myself. Thier labor is 99.25 pr hr.
That could save my a bunch of money.

Meantime where is the best place to get one of those plastic add-on deflectors I've seen folks use here?

Here's why you can't just remove the windscreen and buy a cheap wind deflector...it'll cause the sunroof to leak water. Mine has been missing the windscreen since I bought it, wish I new that when I bought it... without the windscreen, the sunroof sits too low and it leaks water. My suggestion, as a temporary fix, push the arm of the windscreen down and close the sunroof over it, then disconnect the sunroof so it can't be opened. Do not throw away or remove the screen!! I finally bought the screen, it can only be bought from GM for $115, I was not happy to discover the broken clamps. Here is a link to a website on how to fix it yourself Sri's Blog , it is quite a process.
