Question. Does the vehicle anti theft system light usually come on when you open the door or before you turn the key? I can't remember, and my light is on right now.

I don't know on a 2006, check your Owner Manual. That could be the problem. The Owner Manual is available on this forum.

This statement here makes me think it is a battery issue of some kind. Have you checked to see if the battery has enough voltage and/or the connections? Dont want to take anything for granted.

Have that battery load tested, and check all the wiring again.

I had the same problem on a chevy cavalier. The ground wire wasn't making a good contact.

might also want to disconnet battery and "reset" things.....just a thought
