Coolant Leak to start, car won't start
Coolant Leak to start, car won't start
I noticed my car would lag to turn on when trying to start. I noticed coolant was leaking to the starter. I changed the hose that I assumed was the issue. Kept having starting issues, now my car won't turn on & my battery is new. Not sure if the starter went bad & now caused electrical issues. I suppose I'm gonna have to change the starter but can't find where the leak is coming from. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
AssUming you followed the directions in the Owner Manual to jump start, why would you think a new/charged battery would help? Isn't jump starting analogous to putting a battery in parallel?
Water runs down or from a pressurized source. the nearest pressurized source is the oil cooler

It's not the starter, it's true...
but not only the starter was flooded with antifreeze, a thorough inspection is needed.
If the lambda probe or wiring (including connectors) is flooded, this may be the reason. The generator is far away, but it also does not hurt to check.
Yes, you say it's been a long time, but use a multimeter.
