I would like to continue using Delco, but I quoted Delco and LTH today. Delco is just sold with the dealer, with a cost of 2,600 pesos (something like 200 USD). LTH costs 1,200 pesos (94 USD).

Delco Lasted 4 years on my HHR.
LTH Is still running after 4 years on my Nissan Micra.

Then, the winner is LTH by Cost-value. If the moderators allow it, attached you´ll find the website (In spanish only)

I measured the voltage on the terminals with a voltmeter and throws 0.07 V... I measured the same on my other car an brought 12.8 V... It´s normal that when a battery is on the end of its life throws almost 0 V?

That low of a voltage almost suggests an internal short in the battery, probably one of the plates collapsed.

That might be caused by the aging of the battery, or anything outside of the battery (I.e. Alternator)?

Most likely just age and heat, 4 years old is getting to the end of a factory battery's life cycle in a hot climate. I would lay aside your fears of an alternator issue, the units used on the HHR seem to be pretty robust.

Well, then as I see there´s not way to recharge the battery, just replace it... I must admit that I don´t like the idea to replace parts on my car that worn with the time at the same time, in my case the struts, struts mounts and now the battery... coincidence is not on my side. I hope that won´t appear any other issue before I replace the battery...

You can try charging it, but with the battery that discharged and somewhat suspect in its integrity, I'd remove it from your HHR first for safety's sake. It may charge back up and be fine for a while, but it may also leave you stranded at the worst possible time.

Take heart, things seem to break on vehicles in groups of three, you have three failures of normal wear items....I wouldn't send your HHR to the scrap yard just yet.

battery

Most batteries fail as the grids corrode the active material does not make much contact with the grides, looseing capacity the active materisl sluffs off settleing to the bottom causing a shorted cell, fully charge the battery measure the total voltage and devide by the number of cells [ 12 ] for the HHR, if yours has vent caps measure from the positive post and measure with the voltmeter in each cell a shorted cell will read a high voltage, you can discarge the battery all the way down it will cause the active material to make contact with the grids and can restore capacity, good luck.

I won´t, thrust me. I still paying it!

Now, serious, I´ll try your method to charge the battery. However I must buy a new one.

I´ll try, but I´m not sure If mine has these caps (Free maintenance). I just noticed a vent tube...
