I have no idea on the second horn. I never told the Tech that I pulled the wire (forgot).

When I went in to pay / check out he reattached the wire.

Chevy did a complete service check which I never expected, including checking the fluids and topping off the windshield washer fluid.

I checked the range on the fobs today, just for kicks. They all have adequate range, the 2 Chevy Fobs have a greater range.

When the weather gets warm I need to do a lot to the car as I ignored it the last year - too busy driving the Corvettes, and rebuilding my 71 Vette. (none have key fobs )

I really like the car and hope to get a few more years out of it.

OK, I've been using the new ACDelco nearly every day for over a week. No issues at all. So if the problem with the OnStar is what caused the issues with the Dorman units, it's not a problem for the ACDelcos.

The low battery issue with the Dorman would show itself within 2 days. I have working fobs now!

Just a warning, if you get the Dorman, and get the “KEY FOB BATT LOW” message, just get a refund, not an exchange. It's not going to work for you, get an ACDelco.

Any way to erase the four previously programmed remotes? I got one fob to program but others would not. Previous owners had used three of the slots I guess.

The way I understand is that it erases all first. The Dorman programmer has a limit of 3-4 times it can be used; from reports like yours it seems people use them then send them back for refunds then they get resold as new.

You just would not believe us? Did you really try all of that stand on your head while honking the horn with your left hand crap?
BTW, this thread is about the Dorman fobs that come with a programming module. Not the bare fobs.
