Driver door won't open from inside, handle OK

Hey guys, back with a new one. My drivers door suddenly doesn't want to open from the inside. I've read through the TSB, and I'm not seeing anything that jumps out at me as being the culprit. The handle feels normal when using it. (there's resistance, it goes back into place normally)

I took the panel off, the handle is intact (I replaced it in October). The cable was attached correctly. I followed the cable (well, cable casing) down to where goes into the door latch is and nothing seems amiss. The two photos at the bottom of the TSB. What are those parts? Is that inside of the latch mechanism? Do I need to unbolt the latch to see them? The door opens normally from the outside. The lock is working normally.

If yours opens from the outside the TSB does not apply. Something is wrong with the cable.

I got the latch mechanism out of the door. The cable looks intact to me. But the plastic piece that connects the cable to the mechanism won't stay connected. Here's a couple pictures.

Broken little plastic piece here. Doesn't seem like it would keep it in place.

Don't see anything obvious here.

The tab that broke off holds the cable end into position, try a tywrap through the hole in the cable end and around the metal lever it fits into or a piece of mechanics wire.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. There's one up the road that says they have a 2011. Is that a close enough match?

I was running out of daylight, so I put it all back together and it's holding for the moment. I'm sure I'm just one hard close away from it coming apart again, but I'll probably wait until then. Depending on what I find at the yard, I might just go with your suggestion. These are getting old enough that the plastic parts are starting to dry out and get brittle. So a used factory part might not last as long as a zip tie.
