I wonder what the part number is. That would be an eazy fix. Peal off the old protector pads and replace with new.
Has anybody removed their old pads ? Is the door painted underneath ? ?
This would be a worthwhile mod even if you had the boards

 

my 07 LS has the clear protection on the rear fenders from the dealer.

 

Well I'm going off what the dealer told me. I'll have pics next week sometime...when it gets repainted and such.

 

Fiona goes in Aug 7th for her running boards and tape. They quoted 60.00 to paint the bow ties too... :)

 

Do you mean, 3M tape? Why are you having the tape and boards done?
Do you have the guards now, what are you gonna do with them (if you have them)?

 

Why not do the tape w/ the boards? More protection IMO. and they're paying for it.

 

I can agree that it may offer a bit more protection, but, they are us...
GM passes all costs back to the consumer in the form of higher prices, in service and in sales.
We get the bill sooner or later.

THE OWNER BOUGHT IT IN GOOD FAITH . EVERYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM IS ABLE TO GO TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND AT NO COST TO THEM GET THE RUNNING BOARDS FOR FREE . YOU WILL HAVE YOUR BOARDS IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS . THERE IS NOTHING TO LOSE.
