Front left signal light won't blink on 2006 Chevy HHR

My turn signal on my left side, while driving, will not blink when I use the turn lever nor emergency button. My uncle and I have looked through the BMC and pulled out all the flashers but still nothing.

What could be the issues. Thank you for your responses.

Have you checked the front and rear bulbs?

Welcome!

Bulbs do blow out, that would be my first place to look. I bet the clicker is faster too.

The computer does the flashing, not an old fashioned relay.

Since the '06 models also use those bulbs as the DRL's, my money is on a blown bulb too.

And if you change the left side, do the right too, they're probably identical in age and the right side bulb will burn out in a week.

Murphy's Law applies to light bulbs, especially ones in pairs.

P.S. aboard!

Thanks for the welcome responses guys.

All the other blinkers work perfectly. And we changed the light bulb as well. We even changed it to the right turn signal and it began blinking when we tried it out as well.

What is also weird, when it is dark enough outside the light will automatically turn on since I have it in auto but will not signal to turn.

So this has confused us and was trying to look up to see if anyone had similar situations. But all I can find is just lever problems and where the flashers were located.

Then it's a wire somewhere. Or the receptacle.

Be sure to replace the bulb with the number supplied in the owners manual. The other one will melt things.

3157 & 3057 look the same and are physically interchangeable, but not the same heat range.

Welcome to the site, put a little dielectric grease on the contacts and check the ground wires under the fender liner.

Hey RobV,

Welcome to the forum! We know you're here because you're looking to do this yourself, but if you'd like to have this issue taken to your local Chevrolet dealership, we'd be happy to assist you. PM us with your contact info, VIN, mileage, and preferred Chevrolet dealership and I'd be happy to share your situation with them. They would contact you to set up a diagnosis.

Let us know if that's something you'd like us to do. Otherwise, the moderators and senior members here have helped numerous HHR owners with issues like yours! We'd be happy to answer any questions you might have as well.

Regards,
