yes cleaning the rotors of the rust will make difference, but if the rotors are turned off the car the vibration problem could come back soon. Also if your rotors are turned more than twice they will more than likley need to be replaced. If they get too thin they will warp due to the heat. here are pics of how they should be turned on the car.

I heard that brake rotors can only be turned once not twice. However, I fully admit that anyone that knows about the pictured gizmo has forgotten more than I ever knew! Interesting stuff. Thanks.

Bad front end vibrations

Both of our HHR's 06' LT and 08'LT2 are starting to vibrate when coming down hill loaded with 4 passengers? Is it time to sell them?

Sell WHAT....the passengers????

Wow, a 7 year old thread....not bad. Might even take the record for reviving the oldest (dead) thread.

Anyway, no, it is not time to sell them. Frankly, and in my opinion, that is a dumb question since your vehicles are quote old and (at least you didn't mention) have not experienced the problem previously. Alas, good service.

Do a search utilizing the Search function of this forum and you will find many different threads, and probably thousands of posts to help with a repair.

Otherwise I think you are joking with us, the membership.
