You scroll through the DIC using the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, the second from the bottom.

This is what they gave me. I removed the tag and VIN numbers.

I saw a battery in the back one time when I was looking around in the HHR. It looks like a typical car battery and thought it got recharged automatically along with the battery under the hood. Is that true or do I have to recharge that with a recharger? Why would it be dead?

That battery in the back is "the battery"... there is none under the hood.

What you thought was a battery up under the hood, it’s the fuse box

What about the battery in the tire monitor unit?

That receipt does not say anything about failing. Go to your local big box auto parts store and ask them to read your OBD2, then tell us what the codes are, we don't care what is "says". The codes will tell what is wrong and be sure to ask for I/M Readiness (that will tell what test is not run).

Why do I care if the Beltsville Self serve kiosk is not working?
Now we know you are in Maryland .

Once again a link in my sig leads to a free Owner Manual.

Each tire has a small pressure sensor inside the tire attached to the tire valve stem. This sensor has a built-in small battery (like a watch battery size) that usually lasts around 8-10 years. This battery itself cannot be replaced, the whole sensor must be replaced.
