I have to say Moran Chevrolet did a great job. The igniton works much better than the original, the doors look fanastic and believe it or not the new wheel covers don't rattle! The original covers made noise from day one but I figured that was just the way it is especially after others having the same problem. These are the cheap LS wheel covers, the part number is 9597197. I am not sure if they are a replacement for the originals but they are quiet. I am very happy.
Thank you for taking the time to share the updates. Would you like me to look into filing a compliment to the dealership?

Morticia got Her letter Today. Oh Joy!

#12089, Special Coverage.

Havent had a problem, Yet.

Morticia is a 2008 Black 2LT Panel, 2.4 with auto trans, just turned 26,000 miles, I bought her with 19,077 miles.

Original owner bought her New in late 2009 I believe it was, have to find the printed carfax I have.

Only thing is the drivers door lock switch light never worked, the passeger side door lock lights up. One of those, annoying little things. I'll replace it one day.

Can't think of anything else wrong with her at the moment, Besides not having a Supercharger installed in her yet.

Just got the letter in the mail yesterday though all the same.

Good to know they are following up.

My HHR is at 124,000 miles...

Looks like I'm not covered by this? The ignition works right now. Bought it used and was a one owner car with a great service record, but the ignition was never replaced.

How much does this usually cost?

The car is a 2007...

Thanks,
Mark

I'm in Canada, and also got a letter, yesterday, from GM Canada, regarding this problem. Basically, GM Canada informs us about the potential problem of the ignition cylinder lock that could fail, but they say they will not replace the part unless I'm experiencing a problem with it. Fortunately, they offer a 10 year/193 000Km warranty for the part only, (not including the labour to replace the part...from what I understand) should the problem occur in the future.

That's a bizarre way to handle a potential problem like that, IMHO. If a part is known to fail, prematurely, then I think GM should replace it. The letter feels like a recall that's not really a recall…

My '08 was $288 and change to replace... got it all back in refund once the SB came out and went back to the dealer.

Had the check in 4 days.

Got my letter today, for "Special Coverage # 12089" 10 years or 120,000 miles.

HHR_SS_QC- But wasn't yours acting up ? You should inform your dealer of this to get it replaced..

How have you been?

It is great you have received your reimbursement check already. That is really quick to be honest with you.

I hope you are having a great summer so far.
