New HHR owner, Tranny problem
I had a local trans shop put a rebuilt trans in our 2006 Pontiac Montana minivan.
It was the 4T60E transmission (larger than 4T45E in the HHR).
The complete job was $1600.
$3000 is way too much for an HHR trans. Before I replaced one myself in one of my HHRs, the same trans shop quoted me $1450 for a rebuilt trans in the HHR.

If your near hellshotrod, he most likely has a good used replacement transmission.

Weird, intermittent problem?
Hi. So, long story short, I got my 2007 HHR LT with 80,000 miles on it about 2 months ago, a couple days after I got it, I noticed the tranny was slipping, So I took it to Aamco, and they did a full rebuild, and all has been well. Yesterday, I drove it about 60 miles on the freeway, and while I was getting off the freeway (It was a green light) when I went to accelerate after making the turn, it didn't immediately catch into gear and the engine just revved. The problem corrected itself after about 2 seconds, and it didn't happen again for the rest of my drive / the drive home. Now, is it possible that this was caused by something other than the transmission? Or should I take it back into Aamco and say what the hell? Thank you for the help!
