You have this code P0480 issue posted in 3 different threads. You really should just have it posted in the original thread you started regarding the "no start".
No sense in causing confusion by having it posted in multiple places.
Maybe our Mods can combine them together.

The very first thing anybody should do after they get a code number is to Google it. After reading a few links then come back to Chevyhhr.net and put it into the search box.
Just looking at the title of RatRodSs link, I am guessing the fuse and/or the relay for the cooling fan was damaged. Could also be what my very first thought was: a spark was shot at the ECM. Or, one of the ground straps got fried.

P0480 relates to the cooling fan relay, possible fuse blown, damaged relay or the easy and least expensive loose ground connection.
Type P0480 into the search widow there is a thread there for your hubby to read thru and check. This code may clear after the battery is disconnected for 30 minutes, to clear and reset the codes, but it may reappear in time
