OK, so the service manual is wrong and so is the owners manual for the '08, interesting....scratches head. Probably time to take it in to the "stealership" or an HVAC shop to let them dig through it.

All I can say is that I'm sorry for suggesting that your HHR might have been buggered up by a past owner, and for reiterating information from Chevrolet that has proved inaccurate. Please accept my apology Chevy13, and let us know how you make out in solving this problem.

Lol, it's no problem. I am sorry if my frustrations come off as disrespect.

So Chevy13 did you resolve the issue? I am having the same problem but I see no response back as to the fix.

I think you missed that the thread is 5 years old - and Chevy13 hasn't been on the site since May 2014, so it very very unlikely you will get a response from him.

I'd suggest you open a fresh new thread with a full description of your problems and we'll see what info can come your way.

I think this is funny. Chevrolet customer service makes comment about all the good advice but dealer just blows customer off. I always love when dealer makes comment the it meets manufacture specs or the other line they use is we called GM tech support for info. This all means then have no clue what they are doing and just want you to go away.

If you read post #9, Michelle offers to help with a complaint if need be.
But all this was years ago, funny yes and peculiar that it's rehashed.
Most of us have moved in from dealerships and just enjoy our HHR's
