yeah i was hoping these pics would help.. but yeah oldblue thats what im dealing with atm.
just trying to figure out why on earth a car dealer would let it get this bad.i finally got in touch with the guy john that sold me the hhr he said he got it on a trade and he said they wont do anything to help me told him i was pretty upset that he didn't go over this better since he was the one who was suppose to fix these things before he sold it .he said he could get a wiring harness from a hhr from the junkyard right around the corner from him and said it was an 07 hhr"at this point i just want to fix these few things and get it finished up not really sure if i feel safe giving it back to him to see if he will fix it..im worried to drive it with that code i know it is not doing it any good if i do" but it seems to me..and i told him he better let the dealership know this isn't right how they gave this to me like this i have been working on the hhr since i got it' between my 7 month old boy and my mom thats not well i really hope i can get this thing back on its feet its has been a journey but i will continue to stay positive cause i do think hope we can get it done ...so far i got the brakes done put new tires on and a new serpentine belt i can do the normal things just hope its fixable

For 1500 bucks, the hhr isn't from your standard Chevy dealer. More than likely a corner lot specializing in turning out huge profits for shoddy cars. In my honest opinion, I wouldn't bother with them. If that's how they sold it, it's an "as is" situation.

I have a spare harness from my 08 2.2 LT. I'll be home (hopefully) next Thurs. Maybe we can take a look and see what needs done. I'm confused as to what the actual problem is.... is the check engine ON and codes pulled were P0016? Or are we thinking damaged wiring harness is causing the problem? Another concern is something I noticed on your first post. The valve cover doesn't match the year...? Sounds like someone's previous engine swap is now in your hands, and they've left a spliced up mess for you to deal with.

At any rate, I'm a young family man myself. I'm willing to help you out. Your best bet would be getting your HHR over to parma unless you have a decent garage to work in. Mines full, but I'd rather be close to my tools.

I'm confused about the valve cover thing. I've never seen one with a year printed on it. How would you know it doesn't match the year?

X2 Don - really I'm confused by the entire situation. At first we're looking for 0016 solutions, than a nasty wiring mess. Sounds like a lot of fun! Who knows, wish I wasn't holed up here in Canada.

well i would like to order the correct kit for it as for right now i only ordered the cam sensor and crank sensor prolly would be best to have you look at it first so that we can get it figured out so i dont order anything wrong but i can definitely get it to parma but as far as its sits it has a poo16 code and when i checked to see the what was up with the check engine light it looks like it was either burnt out from the board or was pulled off of it.its hard to tell.So when you get a chance Dbeluscak gimme a call.and ill explain it the best i can.

i know the 2.4 vvt goes back to 2006 on the hhr but not the 2.2 as far as i read up it was started in 2009 and thats what this one says it has...so what im hoping is they put a vvt valve cover on the 2.2 considering it doesn't have the solenoids it should have sticking through the top left and those washer plugs in place and plus the wiring harness doesnt have the connectors for them either

2.4L has VVT in all years. As far as I know all of the timing parts are the same. Your VIN will tell you what engine and trim level. I thought we already went through that. A VVT valve cover has holes in it for the VVT valves, it would not work on a non-VVT engine.

Here is a VIN decoder:
