Did you use the second link I posted? I think I was editing the post when you looked.

The VIN should also be on the engine on the boss near the oil filter.

Does the engine have VVT valves sticking out the top of the valve cover, or not. Pictures in this thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/

If they put a VVT engine in the car all bets are off when it comes to the ECM/OBDii codes.

Called it! Someone's dropped a shoddy swap on your hands. Soon as I get back on American soil I'll give you a ring. Calls cost a fortune internationally. I would start by returning those parts you got. Or at least don't put them in until we know you need them. Electrical components have a stricter return policy then your standard parts. Save your money and get those back to the store.

The VVT valves are right next to the timing chain "hump" in the valve cover (passenger side)

And no worries mate, we'll get ya fixed up! I bought my SS from a shady dealer as well. When I dipped my finger into the exhaust and pulled out oil my salesman said "well, condensation is normal for this time of year" LMAO! When I learned it had only been driven 3 times in 2 months I knew I could steal it! So I did, it drove 500 miles before overheating to the point of no return.

If you're capable of driving a stick a may have a loaner vehicle for ya. Like I said, I'm a family man. I feel for ya

Hold up! Those tapped holes wouldn't be on a non VVT engine. It looks like we're in for some headaches. It's VVT without the solenoids. Nothing good can come from that
