Hmm. I had that weird, one time pending, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 on my SS.
Kind of a similar circumstance where I was driving and doing some extended coasting.

I'll be watching this thread with interest to see if you find something.

Hmmm, same or similar issues,
Both SS’s
One has the catch cans
One is stock
Different parts of the country, so eliminating barometric pressure, moist density.
I’m doubting both have same intake manifold gasket leak.

A fiendish plot?

I researched, found this

Now you both indicated, it’s intermittent so I doubt you both have low compression.

And this

And this about DI problems

P0300 p0301 p0302

I've had occasional P0300 P0301 P0302 codes. Yesterday, I pulled into a parking lot to check my phone, noticed the CEL slowly flashing. Hooked up the code reader, nothing logged, but the same 3 codes were pending. Before I made it the few blocks home, the codes were hard set.

So I swapped coil packs 1 and 2 for coil packs 3 and 4. I think I might have done that the last time also, but it's been so long ago, I don't remember for sure. Clear the codes, take off for a ride.

Not long into the drive, the CEL comes on again, same 3 codes. This time accompanied by a fair amount of smoke out back. Good thing I'm just puttering around town, take it back home.

So this morning, I check the oil, it's low, halfway in the "OK" range. I had a leak last month, I replaced the oil filter cap O-ring and topped off the oil, it's still not leaking. The coolant level is still the same as always.

I don't have a compression tester, so I went straight to the leak down test. Here is my leakdown results from my shell blasting 2 years ago.
22. I performed another leak down test here. My prior readings - cylinders 1-3 had 2-4% leakage, and cylinder 4 had 23% leakage(crankcase and intake). Now cylinders 1-3 have 2% leakage and cylinder 4 has 5-6% leakage (crankcase).

My results today were the same, so the problem doesn't appear to be rings/cylinder walls. The codes have always been only cylinders 1 and 2, so I wouldn't think that the turbo is blowing oil. Leaves me thinking valve guides.

I was hoping the misfires were coil packs or spark plugs, or worst case, injectors. Guess I should be glad it's not rings.

Here are the spark plugs, 1,2,3,4 from left to right.

Any other thoughts?

From here #1 looks like the whisker is broken off. At least not the same gap.

And a bit of crud above the threads, where the old fashioned crush washer was. And the top thread of #4 looks cleaner than the others.

I'm not used to looking at turbo plugs. but the color seems odd to me. As well as the variations of shiny/dirty bits.

The whisker is good. The photos are darker than I'd like, even with a light and the flash on. I agree with your other observations. The color prompted me to add that the coolant level was good.

I rolled the plugs 180* and here's another pic.

I can't think of another explanation for the oil loss and smoking. But I expected 1 and 2 to be fouled worse. The smoking seems a little worse on deceleration.

Let me rephrase one of my paragraphs, might not have been clear.

Found my old thread, this has been going on for about 2 years, but hasn't happened in quite a long while. In that thread, I was suspecting fuel, but now with the low oil level and blowing smoke, I don't know what to think.

We can merge these if you think it's best.

FYI, Injector seals will cause a misfire

I guess it could be more than one issue. Injectors causing the misfire, something else causing the oil loss and smoking.

Just throwing out suggestions for the P3** codes. If you have a borescope or are really good with a mirror look at where the injectors go into the head to see if you can see any crud from leakage. BTW, how many miles on it now?
