Here’s the results….

Alloy Filler Neck, New Koehler SS Hose Clamps, hose clamp for the overflow hose, a new front upper hose, and some Prestone Dexos.
The short block hose arrived today, so it will go on in the next week or so.

I found one difference in the new Alloy “T”, which is that the overflow spout is smaller diameter, so switching out the stock compression clamp with a screw on clamp is a MUST for the purpose of getting rhe circumference tightened. Otherwise, the compression clamp allows it to leak.

After measuring before I ordered the Alloy Filler Neck part, I realized that the 1:30 angle makes more sense, as it goes straight down the side where the inlet is on the overflow jug. The other side benefit is that there’s no snugging up of the front hose to the overflow hose. It just feels better when off to the side like this. Perhaps that 45° angle might offend some with OCD. However it seems more ergonomically swift.

The Alloy version is a little longer (about 1” longer), but doesn’t seem to create an issue. It is 2mm smaller diameter, but should be fine with good hoseclamps.

Here’s the OEM part. Snapped right at the junction.

Superior Quality you can feel!

Old hose holding old chunk of crumbling plastic

Job COMPLETE!
(*Note: this is after replacing the rad hoseclamps, but before changing out the compression clamp on the overflow tube to the screw-type clamp, which is a must, as I soon discovered after warming up to cap thermo open position.) The compression clamp allowed a slow drip).

Looks like the original problem resulted from over tightening hose clamps. There is a reason that those spring clamps come from the factory.
Hose clamps have torques specs.
The clamp should not dig into the hose or cause the hose to flare.

Nice job. Looks good.

Just make sure to bend down that loose end of the clamp. Too easy to slice open a finger when opening the cap. Ask me how I know !!

Same way I know! Ouch! Now it’s standard procedure to trim off excess clamp material and tape!

Mine came in the mail today, only took 4 days. I'm not going to install now, just keep it handy for now as I need to replace the coolant again as its been 4 and half years again.

it’s truly very wise to have this part ready when the other one gives way. Especially since the specs of this one isn’t usually stocked.

I’m definitely going to do a couple minor tweaks over the next few days, but I was so elated to just have the part installed, so everything else will happen over the next week. I also wanted to wait till I got the short hose to do the final tweaks.

Here’s the ‘final product’ with the new screw-type Overflow Hose Clamp installed + inside Short Hose installed. Everything came from Amazon. All parts fit great, perfect length, no cutting needed.

(Below that are the parts as listed on Amazon)

Last piece to be added

DONE
