Is the check engine light on?
If so, your remote won't work. It's a fail safe for protection because you have other issues with the car.

Did it ever work?
What has happened between then and now?
Is it activated in the Driver Information Center Menu?
Is your hood latched?
Is the Check Engine Light lit?
Owner Manual is available via the link in my sig if you don't have one.

The first time is to insure the doors are locked, the second is part of the key combo. If you are sure the doors are already locked only one "lock" is needed.
