Can anyone tell me how to remove the door cap with the lock on the drivers side door handle. I see a red plastic tip but not a screw to remove like the other door caps>

I saw that thread, but that does not answer my question. I don't have a red reflector but, I do have a black rubber plug and when I remove that I cannot see the screw. Just a red plasctic piece?

ChevyMgr: The OP is trying to remove the outside door handle and/or cap.

Should be a screw behind the access hole. You just have to look in at about a 45 degree angle.
Mine has the red tape reflector on the drivers door. Black rubber plug on the passenger door.

That's how I usually see them, but I don't look at the door of every HHR that comes in, so it could be different on stelerz. Or someones already removed it before and put a black plug in the red dot's place.

 

I think it's a torx screw, but not for sure. Someone will come along and say.

 

The cap is the small piece of the outside door handle. On the drivers door the part with the hole for the key is called the cap. I looked at a 45 degree angle and see a red piece of plastic I do not see the torque screw like the other doors have them. Get what I mean now.

There is a samll plasctic red piece that seems to be blocking the bolt holding on the cap. I thin I will go to the body shop where I had my running boards painted and see if they can help me. Thanks anyway.
