Starting problems

My husband has a 2007 HHR, and twice it has failed to start after being garaged all night. The first time, the dealership towed the car in, checked it over, including the battery, got no codes, so sent it on home with a clean bill of health. Today, a month later, same thing. Of course, both times, the keys were stuck in it, because once the power goes, it refuses to release the keys from the ignition. Once again, they have towed it away, after jump starting it to release the keys. It appears to be battery/alternator related, to me, but it's a nearly brand new car, and the battery checks out. It is disconcerting that the DEALERSHIP can't seem to get to the bottom of things. Obviously, we are not what you would call an "isolated incident". It looks like others are experiencing similar problems. Is there a design flaw in this car? Why is this a problem? Help!

Actually, I haven't heard of many others with the problem you have. So you go out in the morning and the battery is completely dead? Certainly sounds like a short somewhere and if your dealer can't find it, take it to the next nearest one if possible to see if they can. This certainly sounds like something they should be able to track down.
