My wiper cover on the arm blew off going down the road... the blade is still there but the cover of the blade is gone . i got 647 miles on it.. does warranty cover wipers or is that a wear item ?

I would think if the "cover" was blown off while driving down the road, the dealer would handle it under new car warranty.

At the very most, it should be a "good will" gesture from a good dealer, IMO

Even the wiper blades, at that mileage, should be covered....unless, of course, some damaged occurred....nicks, etc

Yea, just remember, most times they wont replace due to wear and tear but a Item breaking off while its functioning normally is generally covered.

We got lucky on my wife's car and the brakes but with the TSB's and long time status with a particular dealership we were able to get new rotors (not cut) and pads on a 15k miles.
