Wireless entry keyfob
I thought it may have onstar and that might keep the bcm from working but I now know that it did not have onstar. The Interior rear view mirror was not the correct one for the HHR it was out of another car and had the wrong plugs on it.
When I put the proper mirror in and plugged it in I know I heard what sounded like the likes starting to lock but still was unable to connect to the BCM. even after leaving the battery unhooked for more then a hour.

The RCDLR (#2 in the drawing) on a 2006-2007 is behind the rear driver side trim panel. Next to the audio amp, if equipped.
There is a data connection between the OnStar module and the BCM, but the mirror does not have anything to do with that.
Here is a scenario: A person purchases the kit, then uses all of the programming quota and returns the product, the vendor sees no broken parts so resells the item. I think you can use the programming module a max of 5 times, I read that somewhere.
If the DLC connects to the ECM then it should connect to the BCM (which most scan tools don't do). Or you would have a CEL and codes. There is a RKE DTC B3100 that is for a bad datalink RCDLR to BCM, you would not be able to read that with most scanners that cost less than $1000.
Someone a few months ago had that sort of problem a new programming module worked for them.
Is everything set right in the DIC? Is the hood ajar switch installed and working? Is the hood closed? For some reason the hood ajar switch is in the door lock circuit as well as the Remote Start circuit.
That is about all I can see.
