Lived in Landscaster (landcaster) in the '70s. Just after I got married the wife couldn't drive to work cause of the snow . She still worked in Burbank. Her boss had never heard of snow in So.Cal. (he wasn't from around here) and fired her for not showing up . Declined unemployment. At the hearing she had the front page of the Antelope Vally Press showing the CHP closing 14 at Ave S . P.O.'ed her boss as they awarded her the unemployment and lectured him on being stupid. I worked in the mountains and the Forestry Service had to take us up the mountain from Pearblossum to work and bring us back. 2+ feet of snow in town and 5 or 6 where I worked. I can see the snow from where I live now and that's as close as I wanna get .
