I did not get a new thermostat but I will order one.

I took a small drive last night and put 40 miles on it. Fuel is almost empty so I'll drive around a bit more and fill it up. Does it matter where I get fuel? I usually get arco 87 for my 2010 LT.

Also I went to AutoZone and had then run the CEL code and it suggested the little front device on the engine so I bought a new unit for $50. I don't know the name but I will get the paperwork later. One thing I noticed is the engine has a right angle for the black hose but the unit I bought just has the hose fitting going straight up. But looks like the air intake fitting which clips on so I assume it's the same situation. Just one 10mm bolt for it.

Thus guy. But I paid $55 so I'll just order it from Rock auto along with some other stuff.

Would it make any sense to get the vapor canister or vent valve solenoid along with it?

It doesn't make much sense to pay $55 for a part you have no idea why you are replacing.

You Owner manual has recommendations for fuel, some SS have a label on the fuel filler door concerning "required" octane.
Why are you trying to run the tank dry, was that somewhere in the preceding 27 pages?

Well the idea was to swap it out right there and see if it helped but like I said, I would like to swap a bunch of cheap parts related to the issues to eliminate them being the culprit.

Do not run the tank dry , the in tank fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank. You could risk overheating and damaging the pump.
If the EVAP purge valve turns off the code , don’t worry about the EVAP canister vent valve.

It’s much less for an AC Delco part at RockAuto

Sorry I did not mean literally dry. Just really low.

I also want to get lower control arms and pads/rotors for the front.

How do these look?

Also need front pads and rotors.

I will get a new cap too just in case since its suggested.

Do not order those Moog LCA’s, the balljoint stubs are too small for the SS.
the GM arms are not available right now.

You don't need to replace perfectly good stuff just because you are in there and especially if it is not related to your current issue.

If the ball joints are still good, you can get new rear bushings. The old ones, press them out, press in the new ones.
