George I understand the last pictures.
That's why I'm suggesting the cleaning of the valves and oil catch can/PCV mod.
Way easier when the engine is on a stand.

If the engine hasn't been pulled, would like to know then, the parts that were removed when done.

Not just the turbo."[/color]
Thanks
I was just pointing out your quote above, which was wrong. He has NOT pulled the original engine. Nor has he removed the exhaust manifold which you thought he had. A lot of that misinformation was because of his "friend" claiming things that weren't done.

Remove the internal PCV valve, add an external one and with an oil catch can.

Not just the turbo.

unfortunately I dont have the money for any of those things or additional gaskets. Being a heart patient and fighting for durability iv lost most my income. But I think I got enough to get this thing running.

on the bad engine he remove the intake and stuff. He was planning on coming out the top. As it's possible on hhr ss models but much more labor intensive. Base hhr models iv always pulled from the top.
New engine has only had valve cover removed and timing cover. The rest has been left alone do to budget. I would love to clean the valves but it's just not in my budget.

You at least can clean the back side of the valves.
No money spent on this, only time.

Explain this better.
Your "new" engine with the miles on it will have coking on the intake valves.
How much ? I don't know.
Are you saying you have a cleaning system?
There is no EGR on this engine.
Cleaning the fuel system won't work, as the engine is direct injection.
The oil that cokes up comes from the internal PCV system.
