SS Specific Service Issues/RepairsService/Repairs specific to the SS. Turbo-Brembo Brakes-2.0 Engine-Limited Slip Differential-Programmable Display-MU3 Transmission
Hi All
So I did something stupid and need help. While messing with a loose airbox - 2008 HHR SS LNF (I'm 100% stock) I broke a piece off of the Outlet Duct OEM PN 15909461. This duct has a fitting/valve that plugs into it which I also screwed up. 2 questions - all of the Outlet Ducts I see online do not show this molded in/glued-in/plastic welded in nipple fitting. The fitting accepts a valve/connector (which I broke too) & hose that appears to terminate at the rear of the cam cover.. Maybe a check valve or breather or something...idk I just know I need both the correct duct and valve
(and I have no idea how that hose/fitting even goes together). Please see the photos. I circled the issues and what I broke. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. I have looked everywhere and am just not finding this specific issue I'm dealing with. Install method would be great/Part #'s... anything that could help. Sorry ahead of time if this has been covered but posts are getting fewer and fewer...
Welcome to the site, that duct is showing available online, I googled the part number, several sites and EBay showed up. That doesn’t mean it’s not obsolete and the website isn’t updated. It appears the broken off pipe has a release tab on it. Perhaps one of our SS gurus can jump in and advise you how to get it apart and or repair it.
In your first pic, the off-white piece rotates, and the hose pulls off of the duct. When it's connected, and horizontal, the tab pushes toward the firewall..
Unfortunately, you'll need to get the whole duct that connects the airbox to the mouth of the turbocharger.
It's the fresh air inlet to the crankcase, part of the PCV system.
