where to get wastegate solenoid?

Alternative Ford part #BL3Z9K378A, apparently, much cheaper and more available.

I realize it’s an old thread, thank you. This thread was the top hit when I was searching for info on the wastegate control solenoid, and I realized info on the Ford part will be useful for anyone searching the forums for solutions to sourcing this part. It’s even more relevant today.
Mostly moderators make that kind of comment here when someone asks a question or otherwise seem to expect an answer from the OP.

Well that is confusing. 6 years ? Some guy on Facebook ?
Anyhow. Since I now own a HHR SS and a Ford Flex with the Ecoboost, I guess I have some turbo boost parts that will work on either one..........interesting.....

Could be but I took that screenshoot in mid-April. More likely a reference to the 6+ years between my comment and the prior one. With any luck a mod will delete this and all the related valueless comments.

That gunk is from our pcv system. Straight from the oil galleys, through the cylinder head, and straight into intake manifold. Fresh air enters the pcv system from the turbo compressor housing through the valve cover. Then out of the valve cover and back into the air supply, which gums up the turbo.
I'm working on a permanent solution (as is Dr. Loch) for these engines. Unless you catch all of the system you're not solving anything. I have roughly 3000 miles on the new engine/turbo. I ran a borescope into the intake @ 1500 miles. The valve stems already had buildup.
The real reason for this is direct injection. It may as well be a diesel! There's no fuel wash cleaning the oil from the pcv system. The 2.2L I rebuilt from "Grandma's HHR" had cleaner valves @ 150k. No easy solution. Methanol injecting or a 5th fuel injector located in the intake manifold. I'm going the hardest route...machining the pcv valve from the intake, plugging that, and rerouting to a catch can. So I'll have two cans. One for the intake, one for the valve cover. I've also got to drill and tap AN fittings into the turbo compressor housing and valve cover.

You could test the solenoid if you know what you're doing and had the specs. But I wouldn't bother. To reduce the chance of wasting a good part, just check the wires and connectors visually make sure they're sound and if they are then just replace the solenoid. Maybe try disconnecting and reconnecting first.
