A couple things spring to mind. Bar sway bar bushings, bad strut mounts, or a bad lower control arm bushing.

You need to get it in the air, or up on good jack stands and look over the suspension components carefully.

I was thinking along the same lines. From his description, its not likely to be bad strut mounts or sway bar bushings. But a bad control arm bushing will can cause the tires to howl with a sound like a bad bearing. Some tire brands/tread patterns are more susceptible to this than others.

Thanks to all who gave advice. 843de suggested I crawl under the car and check everything, which a did and found a loose sway bar link. I tightened it up and noise is gone. It was just a coincidence that the noise started right after the new wheels and tires. I now do notice that the Goodyear Eagle GTs are noiser than stock, but that's fine.

Glad you isolated the source of the noise, sometimes chasing down an odd sound can drive you just short of nuts.

Car has 46k on it.
Did you replace the tires just because you wanted new tires? The OE tires should have lasted into 70K. What I'm getting at is there may be something wrong if the tires wore out that fast, and the type of wear could aid in diagnosis.

Has anyone looked at the control arm bushings? the shocks & struts? Shocks & struts can go bad in 40K.

I replaced the wheels and tires, because I wanted to get the wheels and didn't want to put the old tires back on. Just a personal preference. You're right the tires look like they would have lasted well beyond the 46k I have on the car. There was no abnormal wear. Thanks
