Yeah, looking over the posts on this thread, he does say three are ok and one is not. Some one sure wasn't paying attention when they were mounted.

I've rotated my tires about 3 times so far and never gave tire direction a thought. Does anyone know if the factory Michelan Pilots that are equipped on the SS models are directional?

I don't think so.... if they were then the specific rotation method would be described in the manual.

I doubt they are directional. If they were, as Greybeard said it would be in your owners manual. Also on the tire sidewall, if its a directional tire, there should be an arrow pointing in the correct rotation direction for that tire. The majority of the tread pattern on a directional tire are cut from the center towards the outer edge of the tire, with only the very center tread running parallel to the edge. At least thats the way my Michelin Hydro Edges are.

If 'previous' owner decided against donut spares, he may have had a full size instead. Somewhere along the way maybe a tire rotation was done including spare which may have been mounted for the other side.of vehicle... it was a long shot. Guess nobody picked up on it

Woody-
I caught it, but doubt if a full size will fit in the spare area.

Since the OP has Nexen tires, we're talking about aftermarket tires. Were any HHR's factory equipped with directional tires? Ours is a 2006. It came with Firestone Affinity's and ther were not directional. I have it's owners manual and also a 2009 owners manual. There's no mention of directional tires in either of them.
