6.0 LSX 2001 Z28 B4C vs HHR SS 5 Speed with 25psi
Guess what.. We all piled into the SS and went to the bar. I was the DD for them. Can't really do that with a Z28. I miss my Z though but it was common sense that it was going to be fast. The HHR is a non player in the minds of a lot of F body people. I subtracted a few last night from that. The HHR will not take a LS car on top end though.
Nice!!!!! Almost considered trading my SS for a 01 Z28 this week but I have decided against it. Even though I would still come out ahead on the deal, the SS seems more streetable. If I had bought the Z28, it would have been sporting a new cam, heads, stall, and bolt ons within a week. I guess I will just have to wait to swap the turbo in the spring. Glad the SS is holding its own against modded LSX's. By the way, what type of heads was the 01 running? That LS6 cam seems like a waste with an lq9 shortblock unless they had stock heads. Most people I know that run that cam use stock LS1 or 5.3 heads. Decent cam but with good heads that cam is pretty much useless above 4500-5000 rpm. Anyways, good job and thanks for assuring me to hold on to the SS.

I agree to that. Even a mildly modded LS car will do some damage to an LNF. I'm sure an LT1 would be a better race for us. A lot better low end torque than a LS1 but suffers in the top end. But you suprised me on those races. Any chance of running from a stop next time? I'm sure you'll lose but I would like to see how close you guys really are.

From a dig I would be killed. All our runs I was in 3rd gear. An auto anything is almost always crappy from a roll race. I know, I been there.
I got into a race with an LT1 vette and it was slower than the GTA I raced last night so an LT1 isn't much of a challange IMO.
I will ask Casey if he would like it video taped. IM not the kind that wants to feel like Im rubbing it in if you know what Im saying. I was happy to hear them saying good things about the HHR. I have always felts that the HHR SS gets the short in of the stick. Here I was last night hanging out with nothing but F Bodies "3rd gen, LT1's and LS1's and a Vega with a 400ci. Im the underdog.

Can't speak for stage 1 mod, but with my Trifecta tune[with Vince's good tune] I can hold a steady 26 lbs. at full boost. It's a Auto, but in the light SS, with this kind of Horsepower, the auto works just fine. No lag, just go.
You can shift the auto in the SS like a stick anyway. After you shift into third, just pull it back into L, and haul serious booty. "Moon"

I have beat a couple light modded ls1 cars in my HHR when it was tune only(hpt) and they were both autos. I let them pick the MPH to start which was 50. I was having the problem with my trans(roll pin messed up) and couldnt NLS from 2-3 so I started in 3rd. Now I have bolt ons and a dual tune set at just under 24psi and a couple other tweaks and it pulls a bit better lol. My buddy has a stock turbo cobalt with bolt ons, stage, and combo tune. He pulls on alot of HCI ls cars. Anything that traps 118 or lower he pulls on. Even beat a pullied 03 cobra with a tune and couple other supporting mods by a fender(trapped 120)
LNF's definatly have power. :)

Glad to see those parts working for ya. I think what made it better was the trash talk before we left to hit the freeway. Saying that the HHR shouldn't have a SS near it's name. LMAO

a V-8, is a V-8, but these LNF's are more fun to play with. Anybody can build a bad-ass V-8, hell if you got the cash you can buy one straight out of the "crate" if you want. But a 5 door 4-banger taking down the "big" boys or at least hanging with them, gets the "underdawg" award everytime! Watch the ecotec 4 vs. Turbo Mustang video in the lounge. The crowd was in complete awe of the 4-banger, and couldn't believe the time or speed that the rail ran.
