Bolting on a BNR K04-2871R
HHRSSOUTH: So hows the turbo upgrade comning along? I'm real curious how yours comes out, when your done, and you can post some H.P. and Torque figures. More intrested in the torque curve[which is really what the dyno is feeling, not H.P.] I won't go into that last statement[too long and technical for this thread].
If your setup is getting a good usable torque curve, then I'd be intrested in taking the plunge, with your setup. Looking for a good flat torque curve at high RPM levels,[mainly for twisties with a little straight line boogy included].
When done, and dynoed, let me know what the numbers shake out to be. Thanks "Moon"

I'm with Moon on this.... How is this going? It was bolted up a few pages ago. Dyno, Dyno, Dyno! Moon- I would imangine the curve would be extreamly steep at the bottom, and smooth all the way to the top! I'll tell you what though, if its how I think it will/should be, then $1,200 bucks for an extra 70-80 HP is cheap! That is until other stuff starts to go! think red disks in the tranny, and half shafts
I realize that going that route, will also mean a highly beefed up auto trans[which can be had]. If the numbers shake out, and it stays together, I will be lineing up my ducks for this mod.
I'm sold on a SS, with decent usable torque curve at higer RPM, with a beefed auto trans. Manual shifting nowdays is a thing of the past. A good setup auto, with the power to overcome the weight diff of the auto, puts the power down better, and shifts faster, and with less human error than a manual. I shift my auto like a manual, all the time.
As to all this H.P. talk. People might want to read up on the diff, between torque and H.P., and how both come into play. Torque is what your butt is telling you about how the H.P. is comning in. A dyno only senses torque, a product of how the H.P. is being applied. Torque curve is a more important number, and at what point the H.P. is generating it. H.P. numbers alone, is just a number.
Anyhow, I'm watching this thread, now that we have found a guinny pig[no offense]. Guess I should say R&D. "POLE" "Moon"

First tune loaded up last night and then I had to take the car out for a part throttle log and full throttle log.
Lets just say
and the wife going
Round 2 of tuning should be today or tommorow.

South, How was 2nd holding? Can't wait for 0-60 times, and how long it takes to wear the tires out
Moon, Yeah the tranny in the auto needs some beefing. Like I said some red disks, and an LSD(previous 2.0 thread), I would also think you would want the motor mount(you got) and lowered(you also got) for starters. - as far as I know only a place in ATL is offering the LSD for around $500. Without the LSD this bigger turbo is useless to us, unless you tune it way back, and then whats the point.
