XXL... Great job!! I remember some old fox body mustangs from the late 80's early 90's that had a kit like this. My buddy has done something similar to his mustang. No water issues like you said. To much gravity to defy in tubes, then IF is actually makes it up the tubes it still has to cross the box and defy gravity again to hit the filter.

Yes if the temp is such that a surface fog exist, moisture can collect inside the box, but that is so so minimal that it is negligible and dried up when engine is at operating temp. Short of fording a river, a large massive puddle might see minimal moisture that would enter in the box which will just drain out the holes in the bottom of the box :)

sorry to dissagree with you im just bitter cause i dont drive a racecar. i just dont understand the amount of work you are putting in to get an extra 1.90098233 hp. if it was a major gain over risk i would shut up. or if you said it was for looks i could be ok with that too. all im saying is that it will get water in it but i dont know how much. take a squirt bottle and spray in in front of the car with it running and see if the filer gets wet.

i have done alot of stuff to my hhr that people didnt agree with so i guess i can understand

oh yea i always wondered if thats your truck on your sig, its sick

Actually... cold air to the intake can make a HUGE difference in a forced-induction vehicle. A 10-degree drop in IAT could be 10hp.

may i reccomend some kind of mesh over the opening. it would keep alrge objects from clogging the tube and help with the "moisture problem".

Once I get my Garret GT3076R turbo dialed in on the tuning, we're probably talking 20 hp difference... not 2. The cooler the air at inlet, the lower the baseline temperature that the intercooler has to work to drop. It will still do its job, and thus provide an even more dense air charge into the motor. This isn't a trivial improvement.

If true, then the car is apparently able to deal with this situation, and as such, I'm still OK. BTW: I'm actually squirting a 30/70 methanol/water mixture into the motor on purpose... yes, water in the motor. It's on a boost pressure controlled valve, and sprays directly into the intake inlet.

If I remember correctly, your using washer fluid for injection and your Windsheild washer container for your holding tank?
