Intofocuszx3, We all should be able to have both. 2.4 intake man.,port&polish the head, header, atomize the fuel better& get out the exhaust mabe change the cams and you should get both. Maybe 50-70 x-tra hp.& mpg.

Confused

Well after reading this post I am still confused. My simple question is is there a performance improvement between a 2007 2.2 vs a 2007 2.4 exhaust manifold, or are they the same manifold. Checking with the dealership the 2.2 pt # is 12606689, the 2.4 pt # is 12581284 and is $40 more expensive. I also read in the colbalt forum that they had used some 2.2 06 manifolds on the 07 and changed to a new version part way through the year. ??????

I believe you are correct. Check your manifold to see which you'd need. There is a sensor (I forget which) that is on the opposite side and uses a bigger hole I think. I need to reread some stuff on that as well as it'll be my next project.
