Why buy a "chip" or "module"?

Your engine can be tuned with HPTuners, just like the SS guys do.

Your vehicle's performance with a custom HPTuners tune will be superior to any "canned" tune currently out on the market because custom tunes can take advantage of any modifications you have already performed and can also account for any particularities of your specific vehicle or the climate of the area you live in. What works for a guy in the thick muggy air of Florida may not work as well for someone in the cold thin air of Colorado.

So if you want the best, go with something custom... it's not really any more expensive than buying a chip or box from a store.

The '08 2.4 has the E37 controller. That cannot be tuned with HPTuners unfortunately.

Trifecta is the best bet for these.

i got nothing bad to say about a tune...but , i like the idea of being able to change mine whenever i like and it won't cost any more....i'd really like to try the 1 that can be programed at anytime from the drivers' seat....in anouther post about the 08 not being able to be tuned.....i don't know about the tune , but i know the jet modules work on my 08 2.4.....and they claim that the other device will also.

I find it odd that Jet has no actual performance data for their HHR chips. Anyone dynoed with one of these bad boys?

research

i always research before i buy , unless it is an amazing deal , and i usually do then also.....there is some info out there , sorry i don't have links....you could try googling jet chips forums , or jet module forums , + dyno if you like....or if you come to durham i'll show you my big toe dyno....all i know is that i can definatly feel a difference.....with the stage 2 i also believe intake and exhaust mods are needed for the best result...also my temp is up a little with the stage 2 , but i never seen it above 207.

I just checked PCMforLess and since I have a '08 2.4, the site says they don't have a tune for this. What on earth is different with my '08 than the other 2.4 autos?

See post #13....above. That might be the reason.
