Cool tnx. just have to talk the wife into it $375 is a lot of cash. Wife said I can get a bluetooth thing in my ear for a lot cheaper.....I think I will wait till bestbuy has another sale 100 bucks off and I have a bunch of reward points to use up.
Also then it is twenty bucks a month for the service
decisions decisions thanks folks,

They also have BT speaker phones that clip to the visor, support voice dialing etc.

375, might get a new head unit, mine does the bluetooh phone and streams bluetooth music from my phone. With the nav built-in I haven't missed onstar, I found it complicated to use the navigation with them, it interrupts everything else too much.

This is something I need to do in my 09 LS, especially after having it in my 10 SS.

Hello,
I finally got hold of a used Onstar/Bluetooth VCIM module form a 2010. There are a few on ebay for $75

My 08 Panel LS already had Onstar but wanted factoy Bluetooth through the Onstar controls. I put it in and it works great with my iPhone 4GS/steering wheel controls and radio. Onstar Interrupts music to tell me there is a incomming call....ect...Voice recognition through bluetooth works great also. One problem Siri`s voice and Onstar`s sound alike :)

It was plug-n-play and came with the bluetooth antenna attached.
I added the steering wheel volume controls and a USB radio before.

here is the p/n I used> Bluetooth/Onstar VCIM OEM 20833261

BTW: After I put the new VCIM I called onstar for a free trial and they set me up....HAHA!

Cheers!

This one?

I am itching to pull the trigger on this project for my HHR as well. Is this what you were looking at?

If so, I am buying mine today. Do you have a part number for the steering wheel control as well? Also, is the USB radio required or can I just do the onstar module with the steering wheel and get me some bluetooth action without having to invest in the radio?
