Free sub box plans

I built a box the other day for my wife's 08 LT that retains the spare and hides the amp and sub in one easy to remove box. I thought I might post the plans in case someone else would like to build a quick box without having to go through all the work of measuring and stuff. I built it for an MTX Thunder 5500 12" but it could be used for other sub's pretty easily, adjust airspace and depth according to your subs. The sub actually is raised 5/8" with a trim ring I made so the depth would fit.

The Finished Box (black vinyl needs reglued, it was 12 degrees and it didn't stick very well, you can see it lifting around sub a little bit)

Thanks.

I've been thinking about doing something similar to this. It's nice to have someone else's numbers to compare with.

Neat idea. What covers the sub from damage? I have a panel with grilles made in it to protect mine.

I have made a cover for the sub out of some chrome handles. Sort of like long thick drawer pulls, 2 long ones in the middle and 2 shorter ones on the edges. I'll try to get some pics soon. Sorry for the crudely drawn plans, I didn't really think to use a ruler or anything to make straight edges. I never thought about showing off the plans to anyone until after I finished the box. In my HHR I didn't go as custom as I did for my wife's. I just cut a quick false floor and threw in the Infinity basslink sub I used to have in my Camaro. I even used the rest of the carpet I had left from her box to cover the false floor. I guess I'm cheap.
