Grinding rear drum
Thanks for the replies, I'll let you know what I find. My first 2 vehicles had drum brakes front and rear, a 73 bug and a 76 jeep CJ-7. The jeep always liked to pull to one side and I remember blowing through a red light with the bug because of brake fade once. Glad those days are over!
No worries, made it home safely and removed the rear brake drum, one of the shoes was not on the lower pivot point and was rubbing (grinding) on the face of the drum.
It must have come off when I was trying to install the shoe retainer spring (a job that you need 3 hands for), lesson learned - Always check your work! Thanks for everyone's input.

My apologies George, I began the drift off topic, when your wife is recovering from cancer surgery...it's hard not to lose track of your thoughts.
Perhaps my Leave of Absence should have meant walking away from the Site completely.
