Something is preventing the SHOCK from compressing, or at least the body from dropping down to the spring.
Agreed!!!

And the number of coils comparing the old springs to the new springs doesn't necessarily mean a thing - the length is important of course, and also the spring rate (meaning the amt. of weight for a specific drop or compression of the spring).

What we are saying is: unless there is some obstruction on the shock absorber shaft, the problem is with the car not the strut. Might even be the other side stuck on something.

Ok i went measure height on both sides ground to bottom lip on fender above the tire and it came out to 27 1/2 inches equal both driver and passenger side . I also use some lube on the steering joint under the steering wheel by the fire wall.. I am wondering if it the steering rack?Anyways i checked the spring on the drivers side today it seems that it get tighter less movement...still have creaking noise maybe motor mount ? Ok i came too conclusion it is a creaking noise when turn the steering wheel while the car standing still and it got to be either sway bar bushings or the new strut mount and i am not going to post no more till i find the problem ,so i like to thank donbrew and whopper ..I mean anything that's make a creaking noise has too be some bushing dried rotted or cheap strut mounts . the car does sit outside and i replaced sway bar bushings three years ago . I thank god for this website

Ok final update the strut mount bearing was upside down in the assembly and was like two in row cant be, but that was the problem ,my mechanic took it all apart and flip the bearing over and know the strut is smooth no creaking and the coil is tight ..on drivers side and this company is going to get the bill for 50.00$.. Other then that i was puling my hair out to find the problem well case closed

Speaks poorly for their quality control - but now we know, and it's something else we can add to the noise causing list.

Glad you got it solved. Cool.
