Raise an HHR for ground clearance

I need to raise my 2008 HHR LS for improved ground clearance. Our roads and streets here in the Dominican Republic are rough and speed bumps abound, plus streets have major drainage areas that cause my HHR front end to contact when traversing them. I would like to raise the front and rear equally about 2 inches. Any suggestions?

to the forum!

Unfortunately the design of the suspension on an HHR doesn't allow for much along the way of raising the ride height.

There are some ideas in this thread, specifically post #9 which may work for you.

interesting idea

I found a guy on a raised HHR: Grave Digger Chevy HHR 4x4

and I found a some "lift kit": Chevrolet HHR Lift Kits - JCWhitney

perhaps it would be useful

The only way I can think of is to put coil spring inserts in, but I doubt as much as 2 inches. In the bad old days we put those on a lot of big Oldsmobiles to help the sagging springs.

Possible spring rubbers under the springs top and bottom or swap out to airride bag system
