Regardless of what anyone says, JonyyB has the final say as he is the one that updates the site. It is at his discretion to accept or deny the vote.

Since Steve has withdrawn after winning the popular vote, and there was no one else who even got half of the total votes then put the four remaining cars up for a 24 hour run-off and let the members cast new votes. It's only fair to the 62 people who supported Steve to let them vote for another candidate.

I am sorry Steve decided to leave--but I think your suggestion is a fair one, Docwylie.

One change I'd like to see is that only members who have a MINIMUM of 10 posts OR have been here more than 30 days can vote.

I have seen it way too often, and I believe it happened in the month I entered, that "contestants" talked their friends in to joining the forum JUST to cast a vote.

It is evident by their 1-2 posts, joining the forum DURING the voting period...never to be heard from again.

some even from the hometown of one of the contestants.
Just go back and look at some of the past votes, and you'll see what I mean.

One new "member" went so far as to voice some hog-wash political statement that had nothing to do with the contest or vote...I thought it weird, childish, and pathetic.

It is just a picture contest, right? bragging rights? so why the big fuss?

I'd rather lose honestly, than win dishonestly.
I may sound like a cry baby...but it IS pretty pathetic...we are adults here, I assume...so yea, I was disappointed to see it happen. But even more disappointed to see I was the only one who noticed.

take a look HERE and see what Oasis1997, AND hooliganmagazine had to say, their join date in reference to voting date, and how many total posts:

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/featured-hhr-submissions-43/featured-hhr-february-2008-tropicar-12863/

and then take a look here and see kubrickian's vote, join date and total posts :

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/featured-hhr-submissions-43/vote-february-2008-featured-hhr-12987/

the sad part is...the winner was decided by only 2 votes...

2

Kubrickian, Hooliganmagazine, and Oasis1997...all of which havent posted since they joined..when?...you guessed it...during the voting period. Oh, and think it's a coincidence that they all hail from Buffalo?

hmmmmm

I've been biting my tongue ever since. I didnt want to seem like a cry baby...but this thread brought it out of me.

I brought this to the attention of the moderating staff back then...but got no reply.

I don't see why hes getting all pissed at me im not even the one who started this whole argument, if you look at the first post in this thread its not from me. i was just voicing my opinion for myself and the others that had entered. It only seemed like spam cause he came on said a few words and that was it, plus all of the watermarks in his images. I also never called him a spammer i said it seems like spam that is all. I have to agree though his car does look nice taking away all the .com stuff and being a brand new member i think he would of deserved the win. So don't act like this is all my fault.

^ I agree with Smoke Wagon. I would hate a voting to come down to a contestant creating multiple accounts to get multiple votes (hopefully nobody would stoop that low in a contest that really doesn't have a prize).

Also, in response to the events of this month, it almost needs a do-over to be fair. Nobody told EdgeofSpeed he was violating the rules until after the voting had started. EdgeofSpeed should have been given the opportunity to resubmit un-.com-ed pictures after he won (I don't know if he was offered that opportunity and turned it down or if he wasn't given that chance). And if we are to eliminate him, then those who voted for him should be able to place their vote for the remaining contestants.

I dont think my competition created multiple accounts...but I do think there was something going on with either friends, co-workers, or something.

The proof is there...you just have to see it. and if you look at the links I posted, you will

I did.
