@Spacer, there is no need to remove the door panel to replace that switch. Just pop the rubber mat out of the bottom of the door handle recess and remove the two torx screws there. Then gently pry the switch panel up from the rear.

I'd planned on looking at that. The only video I've watched so far had the guy giving up on that and removing the door panel. I'd sure prefer the simpler way, myself.

The fan only has high speed is weird after replacing the resistor. The only way that can be is the fan is straight to ground, the switch selects which path to ground. The default is no resistor..

If you replaced the fan once it is easy the second time, just a few screws.

I haven't replaced the fan yet, but who knows... either way. Could the harness be somehow it?

I got the resistor from a vendor on Amazon, I think, but it's been a while, and the return window is long gone. I could try another one, perhaps from a local parts store, so I can try it in the parking lot.

The resistor was a pig in a poke. Guess I ought think twice about being cheap. I spent a little more for a lifetime warrantied one at the local parts store and installed it in the parking lot. It works. I also bought a blower, to be installed later this week.

Driver's side floor got swamped in recent wet weather. Tracing the wet, looks like I have a plugged or loose drain hose. I'll have to pull the a pillar panel and see what I need to do there.
Still should get a new battery, but will wait until my next payday and get a better than bottom line one.
