Flashing Securtiy System Light--Will it Run Down Battery?

You have parasitic electrical drains that far exceed that security light. Somewhere in the documentation I recall it saying you have approx 29 days before your battery is in danger of going flat. For long term storage put a battery minder on it, or a smart charger that will float the battery.

If you lock the doors using the lock button and not the key fob the light doesn't flash. At least this is how it works on my 2010.

That is because using the lock button does not turn the security alarm on.

I understand that the security will not be active. He just wanted to know how to stop the light from flashing. I was just offering a simple solution.
