Instant Enonomy on DIC?

Ive been noticing a drop from 28.4 to 27 average MPG on the dic. (which based on some of the posts doesnt seem too bad for a 2.2 auto). Then over the weekend I guess I left the Sirius on, and maybe a dvd screen as well... leading to dead battery on Sunday.
After a few attempted jumps with a jump box (also with a dead battery) I waited another day for a recharge of the Jump box and got luhhrch back running this morning.
Then I noticed something strange... The avg MPG was showing 28, then 28.5 when I backed out, then back to 28, down to 27.4 while pulling away. This rapid change (every minute or so) continued on the drive to work. During lunch I hit the A/C and there was an immediate .5mpg drop on the display.
I am starting to think I got into instant econ somehow (instead of average). perhaps even into a diagnostic mode. I will have to see if I have any other different readings available later.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Don't think that is the case. Last month, I had to replace my battery after several mornings of jump starts. No information was lost except for the time on the radio. All presets remained, and no loss of info on the DIC.

Maybe not all of them, just might be a bad batch as it has only happened to only a few here. But the good news is, The battery is covered under warranty (if you still have any left).
