I have the same soundproofing and it is not an issue. I have driven in lots of rain, snow and ice and never a problem.

missing door pull covers
My SS came without the covers on the door pulls also. Went to Walmart; purchased a roll of black auto carpet some velcro and tada removable covers. Also took same carpet some crafters spray adhesive and lined the two floor boxes behind the rear seat; easy to pull whote assembly out for bench top work. Now my tools (You do carry some with you, don't you?) and whatever else don't rattle around.

2009 LT2 model
Figured I would add to this thread instead of starting a new one.....
2009 Model year:
Speaking of missing rubber pads. I have all 4 of mine in my doors, there's also one in the center dash storage, rear cupholder and the little storage area in front of the shifter. Should there be rubber pads in the 2 front cupholders and that little rectangular space behind the emergency brake and in front of the rear cupholder?
Reason I ask is that I saw a pic of an older model HHR and it looked like there was rubber pads at the bottom of these....
Thanks for your patience on what may be a stupid question... This is my first new car in 20 years....

My '08 has the rubber liners in all the cup holders but I'm not sure if there's supposed to be one in the square cut out next to the parking brake. When I was first looking to buy mine, none of the ones I test drove had one there

The door handles were silly little rubber ovals, just loosely laying in the "cup" . . . I took them all out and tossed them into the glove box, since I know the car wash guys will suck them out with their vacuums.
Still love my little truckster.

Subject: Rear Console cup holder liner removed
Models: 2009 Chevrolet HHR
ANNOUNCEMENT:
General Motors is announcing that the rear of console cup holder liner has been removed on all Chevrolet HHR’s built after March16, 2009.
**************************************************
Since my HHR was bulit on 8/25/08 I have the liner in my rear cup holder, it's the front cup holders and that rectangular space between the rear cup holder and the emergency brake that don't have a liner.
What a great thread though with all of the tech info you have posted! A true labor of love, I hope everybody appreciates you as much as they should!
