I think in gonna have to. These are the same jack @$$ the wanted to charge me towing for the ignition recall when the car wouldnt start..

I told him I had it up on recall site with the service bulletins, his response.
"It only effected the 08 and up, 06 07 had different brand"
so hey the chevy dealer In findlay ohio.. some inconpentent people.
I think we have 1 more GM dealer close. I may have them do the alignment and the ps fix at the same time.

On the way home right now, I can actually hear a "click" as the PS is shutting off.. the "click" is coming from under steering wheel the the left.

That would be the overheat circuit breaker. Should have a stored code, no CEL.

Hey Don. Would that be a "C" trouble code ? One that a very basic reader may not show ?

After I had my ignition switch recall done on my '07 I got two letters from GM... One about the extended warranty on the power steering motor and one about the shifter. So far I haven't had either fail but I still have the letters if I need them. So 2007 is included... I think it's the newer ones that aren't... Your guy was blowing smoke up your @$$.

Watch your wording when talking to a dealer... Neither of those are a "recall". They are extended warranty... and you shouldn't need the letter in hand for it to be valid. (although they would have a harder time denying a written document from GM if you had it)

Buddy at Ford said there is a bigger gm dealer in next town, call them. Or he said scare poop out of them and have me a few boys ride in on our bikes.. i laughed.. but ill call the other dealer as soon as im finished with all these steering and suspension, so they can knock it all out at once..

I do have a weird question/comment.. I didnt know EPS could overheat? Is that part of the problem, or something Im doing?

Maybe... With these motors doing the PS you should be in motion when you turn the wheel... Sitting still and cranking on the wheel could overheat the motor.

It can overheat, yes. Anything from turning the steering wheel while the car is stopped or moving very slowly.

The over heating involved in the warraty is anytime.

Probably U2105 or U2107; may or may not show definitely does not cause CEL just the message on the dash.
