It took about 7 hours to fab up the two upper mounts for the radiator. I incorporated all 4 of the Camaro rubber mounts so I won't have any problems. I even used the stock upper HHR radiator mounting holes and alignment slots. I'll take all the parts to work with me Monday and drop them off at the powder coaters. That will finish off this part. Next I get back on the rear section of the trans hump and the drive shaft tunnel.

 

...........and another thing that bugs me about my HHR is the lame-o-beep-beep-Nash-Rambler horn. It's not that I honk my horn very much but when you click your clicker twice it honks the horn to confirm the doors are locked. Well I fixed that today. Behold, a dual note Camaro horn installed.

 

Will you have to run an extra fuse(and possibly a relay) for the second horn or will the single stock fuse carry both horns?

 

If you changed the horn on a stock HHR you might have to modify the wiring. Since I am replacing the entire car's wiring with Camaro wiring it will plug right in.

 

I have been running two horns awhile,wired it in with stock wiring and fuse...no problems at all.

I saw this one too...looked very different from your set up. Keep up the good work. We're all looking forward to the finished product.

 

I have dual exhaust on my daily driver Panel but one thing I have never been satisfied with is how I cut the extra hole in the bumper on the other side. Oh, the hole is the correct size and location, but is just a hole, no inside "factory" lip. I corrected this on the V8 Panel.

First I made a paper pattern of the hole shape and transferred it to the other side of the bumper. I took a 4'" cut-off tool and removed the inside of the area, finishing it up with a rotary grinder to the correct size/shape. Then I made another paper pattern of the lip piece and laid it down on a junk bumper cover I had. With a white spray can I painted it so the shape would remain. A little band saw/sander time and it fit fine. With some 3M plastic bumper repair adhesive and all the other steps, cleaning,sanding, bull dog, ect......I stuck it all together. It is dry now and it will need some sanding and a little bondo before its primed but I should have an SS rear bumper that looks like it came from the factory with dual exhaust.
