The harness will be a modified stand alone. I still want to keep as many stock HHR items as possible. The HHR guages won't work because one car uses CAN buss and one car uses SERIAL buss.

What are you using to drive your speedo? Your sbc doesn't have an ECM does it?

okay check this out..

so mine uses the factory body harness with a stand alone engine harness...the gauges are classic instruments Bel-Era designed to retrofit into a 55 Chevy but slightly modified to fit into the HHR dash ... I'm not sure exactly how it works but it has some type of small ECM that plugs into the tranny.

Yeah, that's similar to what l'm doing. The trick is getting the HHR fuse block powered up. What about your a/c and heater? Stock controls?

yes stock on ac/heat... but the stand alone controls only the drive train and has it's own fuse block.

ECU Programming

I mailed of the Ls1 ECU today to Sinister Performance in Fort Wayne for programming. They came highly recommend and Ryan Gick, the owner
seems very sharp. The wiring continues....

Yeah, it looks pretty much the same. You guys don't want to see I pictures of that.
