Weird light issue tonight

I was walking out of work tonight and started my remote starter. As I walked up to my HHR I noticed a light below it, in the rear. When I went behind the HHR, I saw a small light hanging while it was wrapped in an ice block.

After I looked at it, I realized that somehow the rear sidemarker light wire got built up with ice from the road, then it somehow popped out the light from it's bezel.

I just had to break the ice block off the wire and then twisted the light back into it's socket.

First time anything like this has ever happened to any car I've owned

Must have been just enough ice to pop it out, I'd think it would have to be a pretty good chunk. Although you might have had something bounce up from the road and knock it loose, either way...kinda weird.

It happens.
Frost. The plastic becomes brittle. Squash - clip cracks or falls away. Lamp is not fixed.

Nothing was broken, it was just a huge hunk of ice. Probably around three or four pounds and it was frozen around the wire leading to the light

Ice is heavy, & that is freaky...But I can certainly see the iceburg winning that battle..
